SPARRING & TRAINING CAMP

Take your skills to the next level

Sometimes fear doesn’t subside and you must do it afraid
— Elisabeth Elliot

Although you learn a lot during your workouts at Unified Boxing Club, the next level is to put it into practice with various partners and fully comprehend the techniques and discipline.

Sparring is a training method in combat sports that involves free-form fighting with strict rules for safety and effective skill-building.

Sparring allows you to experience real-time challenges and adapt your skills under pressure. It helps you develop timing, distance control, and the ability to read your opponent's movements.

Moreover, this practice fosters a supportive environment where you can receive feedback from your partner and coaches, guiding you on how to refine your approach.

THE PURPOSE OF SPARRING

As you progress, you'll notice significant changes not only in your boxing abilities but also in your confidence and mental resilience. Embracing this learning experience can lead to improved performance in sparring sessions as well as in life.

The goal of sparring isn't just to 'fight' or win, but to grow as a boxer and an athlete. Celebrate your successes and learn from your mistakes; each session is an opportunity for development. Stay curious about your potential, and you'll become a more well-rounded boxer.

To have access to the sparring program, you will need;

THE SPARRING INDUCTION

  • Our aim is to optimize your training experience while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

The sparring program is exclusive and not available to the public. To participate, you must have an active membership—either 8-Class or Unlimited.

  • A solid understanding of the basics of boxing is essential before starting the sparring program.

Although everyone's skill level varies, if you're new to boxing, you need to have completed at least 50 classes within 4 months.

You’ll discover what areas to focus on during sparring. In class, you practice to improve the skills you need to work on for sparring.

  • To access the sparring program, you need to complete the mandatory Sparring Induction.

The induction is held quarterly and requires a one-time fee of $35.

If you cannot attend the scheduled dates and would like to enter the program sooner rather than later, you can still qualify by booking a private session with Nate.

During sparring induction, we will introduce you to the training environment, outline safety protocols and house rules like punctuality, respecting your team and coaches, sportsmanship, and effective communication.

You will learn about the drills and techniques involved and have a chance to ask questions.

The induction will help us evaluate your boxing skills and emotional readiness for sparring, so we can decide if sparring is right for you.

THE 8-WEEK TRAINING CAMP

Your next move in your boxing journey would be to join the 8-Week Training Camp, if interested. You get access to the Sparring Exhibition upon completing the Camp.

“A training camp is an organized period in which military personnel or athletes participate in a rigorous and focused schedule of training to learn or improve skills.”

Teams typically use scheduled training cycles, which help athletes improve their physical and mental fitness, build confidence, and uplevel their skills. They also help athletes develop a sense of independence and responsibility.

We host two 8-week Training Camps each year during Spring and Fall.

Registration opens two weeks before the Training Camp.

A "training camp" is a dedicated period of focused, high-intensity training with significantly increased volume compared to regular training. Where athletes can fully immerse themselves in their sport.

The benefits of a Training Camp:

  • opportunity to build long-desired habits for an improved lifestyle

  • practicing setting clear goals with a deadline

  • exploring effective systems to achieve goals

  • learning from your setbacks

  • performing under pressure

  • discovering your capabilities

  • enhance leadership skills

  • elevating progress by removing distractions and maximizing training time with personalized coaching, a structured schedule & program, and a deadline.

THE SPARRING EXHIBITION

A sparring exhibition is a public technical boxing demonstration in which two individuals participate in a controlled sparring match.

This event promises to be an unforgettable SHOW, highlighting the power of perseverance and the camaraderie developed among the boxers.

It’ll showcases techniques and athleticism rather than aiming for a decisive victory, emphasizing entertainment value, all while being presented before an audience.
